The 1958 Chevy illustrates the jet-aircraft-influenced mindset of
many designers of the day. The B-52's engine mount - dual thrust with a center suspended support - reappears on the
front grill of the 58 Chevy.
From "American Grafitti"
to cruising your town, the 58 Chevy was the car of choice - an American
favorite.
This car is 5,800 pounds of steel and chrome with a selection of V8 or a standard six
cylinder valve in head engine. Then add your choice of either the "Powerglide" or
standard transmission. To provide a smooth ride, Chevy included four cowl
springs. |
